Koreatown Bars for a Date in Los Angeles

Seven Koreatown spots for a drink together, from a cocktail bar in a landmark hotel to a lounge with live music and comedy.

Koreatown gives you soju cocktails, old fashioneds, Korean bar food and a candlelit seat at the bar. We narrowed it down to seven bars worth a date.

The Normandie Club

Hotel Normandie is a Koreatown landmark, and The Normandie Club, a community cocktail bar, is inside it. It suits a stop after dinner when you want strong drinks. The room is dim and snug, with a well-dressed crowd and a back booth. The menu covers classics like martinis, old fashioneds and gimlets, plus house ideas, and we'd start with the coconut-washed bourbon old fashioned.

The Prince

Step into a little old Hollywood glamour at The Prince, a historic Koreatown restaurant and lounge that's made appearances in plenty of movies and TV shows. Moody red lighting, dark oak panels and curved leather booths set the scene for an intimate date night, while Korean favorites like spicy seafood noodles, kimchi fried rice and crispy fried chicken give you plenty to share.

Anju House is a Koreatown bar that serves Korean bar food alongside beer, soju and cocktails. The bar is open Monday through Friday from 5pm to 2am, Saturday from 11am to 2am, and Sunday from 11am to midnight. Reservations and walk-ins are both welcome, so you can plan ahead or just turn up.

Danbi

Cafe Bleu is a Koreatown lounge bar that pours spirits and cocktails and shows sports. Up-and-coming musicians and comics perform here. The room feels warm and inviting, and the kitchen serves Korean food. It is open from 5pm to 2am on most days, with happy hour daily from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

Sai Korean Bar

Sai Korean Bar brings a fresh take on Korean nightlife to Koreatown, with soju-based cocktails, wine and beer on tap. The menu puts a playful spin on Korean bar food, with dishes like mushroom pasta, popcorn chicken and fish cake soup. Tucked along Kenmore Avenue, it's a fun choice for a casual date over drinks and shared plates.

Jilli

Jilli brings a mix of romance and energy to Koreatown, with candlelit tables, soju and a soundtrack of 2000s hip-hop. Grab a seat at the bar for an intimate drink or settle in for dinner together if you're in the mood for a livelier date night.
